Christine’s Chocolate Slice

The most delicious – chocolate fudge with cream cheese topping and it looks very spectacular with the patterned top.

Chocolate Base
185g butter
1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup plain flour

Method – Base
Melt to butter and cocoa together. Add sugar. Whisk in egg. Fold in flour.
Pour into greased lamington tins.

Cream Cheese Topping
250g cream cheese
1/3 cup sugar, extra
1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
1 egg, extra

Method – Topping
Beat cheese, extra sugar and vanilla together. Add extra egg.
Pour over chocolate mixture. Swirl through with knife.
Bake in moderate oven 180°C for 40 minutes.
Cool in tin, cut when cold.
